His merciful kindness is mighty(er) over us!
Don’t worry, the promised part 2 about my time in Spain is still coming. But today I want to share something else with you. The Messianic Jewish congregations in Germany have proclaimed today to be the Shabbat of Healing and Deliverance. They are focusing their prayers today on the Jewish people, that they may be healed and delivered from all pain and all that is not according to God’s order. I took that thought along in my prayer today, together with a very painful situation

Touching the Inquisition, part 1
As promised I will share with you about my time in Spain. But since the time has been so intense and I need to give some background information, I have decided to spread it out over two blog entries. In this first blog entry I will share about my own journey for caring for this subject and some information on the Inquisition as an institution. The next blog entry will then tell about the journey itself. So, the Inquisition, the Spanish Inquisition to be more precise, what is

TJCII encounters to encourage, to teach and to build
Since a few days I am back at the Fountain of Tears in Brzezinka, Poland, from where I left mid-January. Many things have happened in between and about some of them I would like to share some with you. I will begin with telling you about three beautiful TJCII encounters, that I have had. The first one was in mid-January, when I left Poland. I traveled to the north of Germany to spend a weekend with one of the Now Generation (the younger generation) members of TJCII. This youn

The four cups of Pesach
Tonight in the Jewish world the most important meal is celebrated, the Pesach meal, also known as seder. Tomorrow in the Christian world we remember Yeshua celebrating that same meal with His disciples, thus opening the three days of the Easter Triduum. The word Seder literally means Order, pointing to the order of liturgy this meal has. This order of liturgy wasn’t much different in the time of Yeshua from how we know it today, according to the scholars. In this liturgy four

Looking back on a Year of Jubilee
A few days ago I turned 51. Thank you all to so many sweet birthday wishes and prayers! I had a beautiful day. This also means, that I have ended my 50th year. Biblically speaking the 50th year is a year of jubilee. In this year lost heritage was being returned and slaves would be set free (see Lev 25). I can see how in this past year parts of my lost heritage were being returned to me. And I would like to share some of that with you. I think the first very clear one happened

Choose life!
In these days I am leaving the Fountain of Tears in Brzezinka, Oświęcim, Poland after a good six weeks here. And wow, what a time it has been! I was looking forward to this time, but was also a bit apprehensive. How would I stand the cold, the dark and the fact that I would be so much alone? In past years I already have spent some time in winter in Poland, but that was more in the beginning of winter and never in the heart of the much colder winters that Poland has been known

Thanksgiving and expectation
In this blog I would like to look back on the past year with thanksgiving. And look forward to what is coming (or I think might be coming) with joy and expectation. There are so many things in this past year to be grateful for! First of all the faithfulness and care of God to me. Thank You, Abba, Thank You is even too weak of an expression to really say what is in my heart. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for His lovingkindness endures forever! I am also very gratef

One extra month in Israel
As you probably read in my last blog, I have suffered from Appendicitis and underwent surgery in Israel. All went well and if you have not read the blog, I can really encourage you. It is full of God’s presence! After the surgery I received the advice not to carry more than 3 kg in the first month or to fly during that time. So I cancelled my flight that I was supposed to take 2 weeks after the operation and remained until after my check-up visit 6 weeks after the surgery. Th

Appendicitis with a purpose
Surrounded by love Yes, I have had an appendicitis, in Israel! As this is something you never plan, it also came for me as a total surprise. It started on Sunday evening, October the 12th. I had just arrived at the Baptist village to be part of the prayer team of the Festival of Life, a new festival organized by Messianic believers to bring hope to Israel and to pray for the unity in the Body of Messiah. This festival was being organized before there was any clear hope of a r
