Fountain of Tears

In 2008, I visited the Fountain of Tears in Arad, Israel, for the first time. It was a very impressive experience and I immediately felt, that it was a place of intercession. At that time I also did some translation work for them. But my current connection to the Fountain began in 2022. Then Rick and Dafna, the artists of the Fountain of Tears, called me asking me to come and help. Dafna's mother, who had dementia, lived with them and they needed help. So I came in September 2022 and slowly started helping out at the Fountain. First doing a deep cleaning and listening in when groups came and Rick, Dafna or Geoff (our neighbor) gave a tour. Then I also started hosting groups myself and telling the story of the Fountain. I also had the privilege of working with Rick in the studio and learned all kinds of things about the process of making bronze sculptures.

For me, the Fountain of Tears is a place, not born of the will of a man, but of the will of God. It is a place, where Gentiles can receive (or receive more of) God's heart for Israel and where they can understand more the depth of Israel's wound. For Jews, it is a place, where Jewish people can receive, perhaps for the first time, a piece of comfort from the crucified Yeshua. This place works to repair the wound between Jews and Gentiles. It is a privilege for me to serve here in intercession, in cooperating and in telling the story.
